San Lorenzo Athletics
SLZ participates in interscholastic competition with other schools in the Bay Area. There are three seasons of sports as well as different levels of competition.
Athletic Eligibility and Fees
San Lorenzo Unified School District policy requires that all (9th through 12th) students participating in extracurricular athletics must have and maintain a minimum 2.0 (C average) grade point average with NO "F's" for each grading period to participate in school activities.
Academic Probation - you are eligible to apply for academic probation if you have the following:
- 2.0 Grade Point Average that includes no more than one "F"
- 1.6 to 1.99 Grade Point Average but with no "F"
The student is ineligible if he/she has more than one "F". No application for probation is allowed.
Athletic eligibility also includes completion of physical exam (for the current school year), insurance waiver, parent permission, and Student Body Activity Seal. To be eligible to participate in any sport all athletes must purchase a Student Body Activity Seal. This includes male and female participants for all sports on all teams: freshman, junior varsity, and varsity. The Student Body Activity Seal is $25.00.
Athletic Fees
Due to budget reductions, a fee for the transportation of students participating in extracurricular activities, such as sports, has been deemed necessary by the District Board of Education. Thus, the fee for this school year will be $40.00 per student in grades 9-12. If more than one child in your family is participating in extracurricular activities during the same season, the fee for the second child will be $20.00. A reduced fee of $20.00 is available for students in grades 9 through 12 who have obtained A.P. approval.
