San Lorenzo High School

Campus Access

Hall Passes

The halls will be open between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm each school day. During class time students MUST have a hall pass to be out of class. Most trips during class can be eliminated by proper planning and the hall pass should be used only as a last resort.

Student Identification Cards

Every student receives an ID card in the fall. Students enrolling after school begins will receive an ID card from the Student Body Office within a week of enrollment.

All SLZ students must have a current I.D. card. Students who have lost their I.D. card may obtain another card by going to the Student Body Office at lunch only to purchase another one for $5.00.

Students MUST carry their student identification card at all times and produce it upon request by an adult supervisor.

Failure to be able to present an ID card, when asked, is a serious violation and will result in disciplinary action. Refusal to show a school official an ID card is defiance and will result in a suspension.

Repeated failure to carry an ID card will result in a suspension.

Visitors on Campus

Because the purpose of SLZ is primarily educational rather than social, visitors (friends or relatives) on campus during class hours are not allowed. Under no circumstances are small children to be brought to school as a temporary solution to child-care problems, nor can teen "relatives" or friends accompany a student during the school day.

However, parents or guardians who wish to visit are welcome and may do so through prior arrangement with the Principal or Assistant Principals. Parents who visit the campus must check in at the Main Office before entering the campus. Failure to do so could mean citation by the police or campus security officials as unregistered intruders.

Open/Closed Campus

Open campus at SLZ is a privilege reserved for 11th, & 12th grade students. These older students may go off campus without a pass ONLY during lunch time. ROP students who travel to another location for their class are the exception to this policy.

The campus is closed for all 9th and 10th grade students. This means students may not leave campus at anytime without prior approval of the Attendance Office or Assistant Principals' Office.

The campus is closed for all students at nutrition breaks, passing periods, and during class time. A parent may NOT override this Board Policy by excusing their child to leave campus. Of course, parents may stop by the campus and personally take their child off campus at their discretion.

REMINDER: 11th and 12th grade students may leave campus ONLY at lunch.

Warning: Railroad Tracks

Please Do Not Walk On or Along the Railroad Tracks next to the school.
The Railroad Tracks that pass by the school are a dangerous place to be and trespassing along them is strictly forbidden by the train company. Though it may be a convenient short cut for some students, three SLZ students have lost their lives along these tracks in the past decade, as have several other students north and south of us along the tracks.

Stay off and Stay Alive!
