Dance Policies and Procedures

In addition to the Code of Conduct, the following standard policies and procedures are effective for all dances. Prices to attend school dances are reduced when purchased with an activity seal.

NO students will be admitted to a dance without a current San Lorenzo I.D. card.
Students who leave the dance may not re-enter the dance.
Attendance at the dance is a privilege not a right.
District dress code policy is in effect at EVERY school dance, including prom.
A student may be asked to leave anytime it is determined by an administrator that their behavior is inappropriate.

Parents: Supervisors are not scheduled to be present after the dance has concluded. Students need to make arrangements to be picked upon time. We cannot guarantee supervision more than ½ hour following the dance. Please pick up students promptly after the dance.

Dirty Dancing

There is a zero tolerance policy for dirty dancing
"Dirty Dancing" is any inappropriate movements. They include but are not limited to:
- Rubbing various body parts against each other
- Raised Legs/Feet
- Being on the floor
- Any other movements considered inappropriate by an adult
There are no warnings.
Offending students will be asked to leave the dance.
No refunds will be issued.

Formal Dance Regulations

NO students or guests will be admitted to a formal dance without a current I.D. card.
Just as for regular dances, the "dirty dancing" policy is in effect.
Students who leave the dance may not reenter the dance.
District dress code policy is in effect at EVERY school dance, including prom.
Attendance at the dance is a privilege not a right.
A student may be asked to leave anytime it is determined by an administrator that their behavior or attire is inappropriate.
No refunds will be given for those who are asked to leave a dance or who change their minds after purchasing a ticket.

Guest Bid Procedures

Guest bids are a privilege, not a right. A student should be in good standing(solid attendance and grades, few to no discipline referrals) when requesting a guest bid.

A student may request a bid for ONE guest only for the following dances: Winter Ball and Jr./Sr. Prom.

It should be noted that:

San Lorenzo students are responsible for the behavior of their guests
School regulations regarding possession/use of alcohol or drugs will be strictly enforced
All guests must be no older than 20 years of age. .
Each student and guest must have a photo I.D. card to enter the dance
Procedures for obtaining permission for a guest to attend a dance are:
1. 1. Get a guest bid from the Student Body Office early enough to return it to the assistant principal's office at least two days prior to the end of ticket sales for the dance.
2. Take the guest bid home and have parents sign the form.
3. Obtain a business card and the signature of the guest's school principal or assistant principal on the bid.
4. If guest is over 18 and/or out of school, attach a copy of his/her photo I.D.
5. Return the signed form to your assistant principal for his/her signature
6. Obtain a Library and Bookroom Clearance and clear all obligations.
7. Bring the completed guest bid and clearances to the S.B.O. where it will be collected when purchasing tickets to the event.
