Nondiscrimination Policy
Non-discrimination Policy on Basis of Sex (Federal Law Title IX P.L. 92-318)
Title IX regulations require that no person in the United States shall on the basis of sex be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. This non-discrimination requirement extends to employment practices by the District as well. Non-discrimination, Harassment and/or Intimidation Policy(Title VI Civil Rights Act)
It is the policy of the District to prohibit discrimination and harassment of students in any program and activity or in employment and treatment of employees on the basis of age, sex (including sexual harassment), race, religion, ancestry, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation. The lack of English language skills shall not be a barrier to admission and participation in the District's activities and programs.
It is the policy of the district not to subject any person to intimidation, coercion or retaliation because they have attempted to secure for themselves or others, rights or privileges established by the Non-Discrimination Policy, including participating in activities conducted to enforce this policy.
Disciplinary action up to and including termination may be instituted for behavior that does not conform to the District's policy regarding discrimination/harassment. The District has developed procedures for processing complaints of discrimination, harassment and/or intimidation. A copy of these procedures is available upon request. Inquiries concerning the filing of complaints may be directed to site administrators, District Administrators or the Affirmative Action Officer, Marlene Zuehlsdorff, at (510) 317-4761.
