San Lorenzo High School

Care of School Property

Students are responsible for proper care of all school property, including school buildings, desks, lockers, equipment, and textbooks. Students who deliberately or through carelessness lose or damage school property will be required to pay for the loss or damage.

Hall and PE Locker

  • Students are to use their assigned lockers.
  • Students may not share lockers. Because the school assumes no responsibility for property stolen from lockers, combinations should not be given out.
  • Valuables or large amounts of money should not be left in lockers but should be checked into the school safe in the Main Office.
  • Be advised that Lockers are the property of the school and may be opened by the administration at any time. Lockers are to be kept clean and free of stickers and graffiti at all times.
  • Students are required to have a lock for their P.E. locker and keep their lockers locked at all times.

Reminder: Lockers are the property of the school and may be opened by the administration at any time.

Textbooks

When a student accepts a textbook they assume full responsibility for it. They must pay for any damages that occur to textbooks while the books are in his/her possession.

  • The only writing that should be done in a book is to print the student's name on the inside cover.
  • When the student is not using the textbook, it should be in his/her locker or at home.
  • Should the student accidentally tear a page or cause other minor damage to a book, he/she should take it to the book room (A-2) for assistance in repairing the book.
  • Should a student lose a textbook he/she must pay for the book before another book can be issued to him/her. If the lost textbook is found, a refund will be issued.
  • If the student lends a book to someone else who loses it he/she remains responsible for the replacement cost of the textbook.

Obligations

Students who have outstanding obligations may have activity privileges restricted. Restriction may affect social/sports activity participation. Students who habitually ignore obligations will receive disciplinary action from the Assistant Principal.
